Course outline

GCSE maths not only gives you the numeracy skills you’ll need for life, it is your golden ticket to apply for other courses, apprenticeships and jobs – having a 4/C or above at GCSE maths is now a standard requirement.

You’ll study a variety of topics including:

  • Number
  • Algebra
  • Ratio, proportion and rates of change
  • Geometry and measures
  • Probability
  • Statistics

Entry requirements

You must have GCSE Maths at grade 3/D and GCSE English at grade 9-3/A*-D or Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English. You must also undertake an initial assessment. The results of the initial assessment must show that you are ready to study GCSEs.

GCSE Maths AQA 8300 – Three written paper exams:

  • Paper 1 – non- calculator
  • Paper 2 – calculator
  • Paper 3 - calculator

Additional information

This course is free unless applicants have already achieved a grade C or 5/4 in the new system. If you are looking to improve to a higher grade the fees are then applied.
