Course outline

If you are looking to buy your first house or struggle to understand how pensions work, Multiply - Mortgages and Pensions will help you understand the basics in borrowed mortgage money and analysing how interest rates can affect you.

This course will also educate you on state pensions and retirement. This will allow you to understand how much money from your salary gets allocated to your pensions and effective ways to budget.

You will learn:

Pensions:

  • Taking stock of retirement plans and next steps
  • How much money is needed in retirement?
  • Budgeting for after retirement
  • State pension

Mortgages:

  • How much can be borrowed
  • Dealing with existing debt
  • Calculating repayments and interest rates

This course is delivered online by a tutor via Microsoft Teams.

You could progress to Multiply for Work – Functional Skills (accredited qualification) or Functional Skills Maths.
