Course introduction

This course is perfect if you want to work with children but feel worried about taking the first steps onto a course which has a placement/work experience or if you like the sound of a smaller group with lots of opportunities to learn practically.

You will learn how children learn through play, how to keep them safe and how to set up exciting activities for them.

You will also learn about becoming a professional and visit different types of places where you might work with or take children to.

You will be taking part in some activities that you would do with children. For example craft activities, sensory play, messy play as well as maths and English games. These may be messy at times but you will learn how children will learn from them, so joining in necessary.

You will also do 30 hours of industry activities and 30 hours of enrichment activities over the year.
