Job description

Your future is here
A place to inspire

In a teaching role at Nottingham College you will play a vital part in helping thousands of people reach their potential. We are Nottingham’s College and together, we make a positive difference to our learners, to our communities and to each other. We’re building better futures, for others and for ourselves. Our teachers bring experience, flair, industry connections, passion and care to their roles and in return we invest in them. Here, you have the freedom to work in a way that suits you, the support to thrive and the opportunity to shape your career.

Who we need
We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking lecturer to join our Foundation Learning team at our Adams campus in the city centre. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching, learning and assessment within further education or an alternative provision setting. We welcome applications from individuals with a broad range of professional and lived experiences, including those who may be newer to teaching but bring relevant skills, passion and commitment to working with young people.
You will have an understanding of the needs of 16–18-year-olds and a genuine commitment to helping all students succeed.
You will join a supportive faculty, where enthusiasm, creativity, and a commitment to inclusive practice are highly valued. The role includes delivering accredited qualifications at Entry Level 3 and Level 1, including Functional Skills in Maths and English.
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, reflective and motivated to make a positive difference, with the ability to create engaging learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of our students.

This is a permanent post, working part time (25.9 hours per week, additional hours may be available).

What youʼll bring
We recognise that great lecturers come from a variety of backgrounds. You may already have teaching experience, or you may be looking to transition into education with relevant expertise and a willingness to learn. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds who can demonstrate the following:
· A passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential
· Experience of working with 16–18-year-olds, or transferable experience with similar groups
· An ability to plan and deliver engaging learning experiences (teaching qualification welcome but not essential if you are willing to work towards one)
· A commitment to inclusive teaching practices that value diversity and remove barriers to learning
· A collaborative approach and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
· An interest in using digital tools to enhance teaching and learning
· A focus on supporting student progression into further learning, training, or employment
We are committed to building a diverse workforce and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who are underrepresented in the further education sector.
