Open Events

Our Open Evenings are a chance for you to see our facilities and meet our expert tutors who will provide you with much more information about the course/courses you are interested in – it is your chance to ask questions and get a feel of what college is like. Our student support areas will be available during the evening if you would like information on student finance, careers, student enrichment and additional learning support. If you’d like some advice on how to apply, advisers will be on hand in our Application Zones to answer your questions and talk you through the process.

The event time for all Open Evening events is 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. When booking through our website you will be able to choose from multiple time slots. We have time slots to help manage numbers and queues throughout the event. We encourage you to try to arrive no later than 6:15 pm to ensure you have enough time to explore our campuses and get all the information you need.

Booking is essential as we need to know how many guests will be coming to each of our campuses so that we can plan and manage numbers accordingly. If you do not book online, the student interested in college will be asked to fill out a paper registration form.

Our booking process accommodates the following ticket types when you book.

• Student/Learner - A person interested in college.
• Parent/Guardian - A parent or guardian attending with the person interested in college.
• Other visitor/guest - Anyone else accompanying but not a student/parent or guardian.

You can book multiple tickets under a single order. Where possible, we recommend bringing just those interested in college and one parent or guardian to help with managing numbers in areas like our welcome presentation.

Minimal personal information is collected for other visitor/guests tickets. For these tickets only name details and any accessibility requirements are captured for event management purposes.

You sure can! You are welcome to attend multiple events to see multiple different course areas across our different campuses, but you will need to book for each of the different campus events individually. The weekday of each of our Open Evening events in October, November, and January is rotated to make it more accessible if you want to visit multiple campuses but maybe can't make it on a certain weekday.

Due to the popularity and interest in our Open Evenings, we have to set maximum capacity limits per time slot to allow everyone to experience everything at an Open Event and safely accommodate all guests while on campus. Where an event slot says sold out or tickets unavailable, this means it has reached the maximum capacity set. 

We regularly review capacity/limits and allocate further spaces where we can. Tickets can be cancelled at any time, which will immediately become available for someone else. A few days before our Open Events we send booking reminders. Cancellations can occur at this stage as well, which will also release tickets to become available again. These can be registered on a first-come first-served basis.

Alternatively, you can register for an alternative date if all time slots are full.

Nottingham College branded reminder email communications will display the overall event time for our Open Evening events. Your original booking with the time slot is in a different email sent by nottinghamcollege@buytickets.at. You can find your tickets through the Ticket Tailor website.

Applications will open in the first week of October. Until then, you can book onto any of our Open Evenings and either apply before you come to an Open Event or apply on the night at our Application Zone.

We will open bookings for January 2027 in mid-November. If you have a booking for October or November but cannot make this date, please contact events@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk, and we can transfer your booking to January.

Our Adams Building Open Evening covers both campuses, as they are both situated on Stoney Street directly opposite each other! For those interested in Art and Design, you will be able to visit the 25 Stoney Street campus during the event.

If you are interested in A Level Art and Design, you may wish to book the Adams Building event, as this A Level is based at 25 Stoney Street.

Each of our campuses have different courses areas, when booking each of our Open Evening events pages list the course areas and for the student/learner ticket you will be asked what course area you are interested in, if you do not see the course area you are interested in then please contact events@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk and we will advise which event will be best for you to attend.

Yes, we do. We offer Supported Open Evenings alongside our main Open Evening events, which start at a slightly earlier time of 4:45 pm. Bookings are managed by our Inclusion and support team.

Travel information can be found for each campus on our campuses page. Each event will directly reference the campus it is based at.

Public car parking facilities are only available at our Basford campus. The pay and display rules advertised in the car park only apply during the daytime, after 4:30 pm there is no charge for parking.

For other locations that do not have on-site parking for the public, there are public car parks available nearby in the surrounding area. Alternatively, many of our campuses are served by public transport services from Nottingham City Transport, Trentbarton and Nottingham Express Transit (NET Tram).

When you book an Open Event with us, you will receive several emails from Nottingham College, and the tickets will be sent to the main email address provided on the booking (the buyer). The email will come from "Nottingham College" at nottinghamcollege@buytickets.at, and the subject line will be "Your tickets for [event name]".

Tickets for our Open Evening events are through Ticket Tailor. You can find your tickets and cancel your booking by following the self-serve guidance. Alternatively, you can contact events@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk who can cancel any bookings on your behalf. Make sure to provide the full name and email address of the original booking.

If you would like to move your booking to another date rather than cancel it entirely, this can be done on your behalf without having to register new tickets. Please get in touch with events@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk to request this.
