Our Engineering and Electrical Centre at the Ruddington campus marks a major step forward in technical training at Nottingham College. Developed in response to the growing demand for skilled engineers in manufacturing, electrical sustainability, and renewable energy, the Centre is designed to close the skills gap and prepare apprentices for the future of industry.

Located alongside our nationally recognised Emtec automotive training facility, the Centre offers a dedicated space for hands-on learning in both traditional and modern engineering and electrical disciplines.

Facilities include:

  • Four purpose-built classrooms designed to support high-quality teaching and collaborative learning.
  • A fully equipped Engineering Workshop featuring CNC machining stations, advanced welding bays, and a dedicated testing laboratory.
  • An Electrical Workshop with 20 individual workstations, facilities for panel wiring, green energy systems, and an electric vehicle (EV) charging station.

With capacity for up to 160 electrical apprentices and 150 engineering apprentices each year, the Centre delivers immersive, real-world training in environments that mirror the modern workplace. Whether you're starting your career or upskilling for the future, our facilities are built to support your journey.
