Make a difference to young people’s futures

Nottingham College is seeking a passionate and engaging Schools Liaison Officer to inspire the next generation of learners and help them make confident decisions about their post-16 pathways.

This is a dynamic, people-focused role where you will represent the College in schools, communities, and events raising awareness of our courses and supporting students to take their next steps.

Key Purpose of the Role

  • Promote Nottingham College and its course offer to young people
  • Build strong partnerships with schools, PRUs, alternative providers and parents
  • Support recruitment targets by showcasing key priority curriculum areas
  • Guide students to make informed post-16 choices
  • Help young people understand college life and choose the right course

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging presentations, workshops and assemblies in schools
  • Plan and coordinate an inspiring outreach programme (including attraction activities, advice, and guidance)
  • Organise and lead campus tours across Nottingham College sites
  • Represent the College at events such as parents’ evenings, careers fairs, and open events
  • Provide 1:1 careers advice to support student progression and enrolment
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Curriculum, Careers, and Student Operations teams

Working Pattern & Requirements

  • Extensive travel across Nottinghamshire (especially north of the city)
  • Access to your own car is essential
  • Occasional early mornings and evening work (e.g. parents’ evenings and events)
  • Careers Qualification Desirable

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A confident and engaging communicator, particularly with young people
  • Skilled in public speaking and delivering presentations
  • Creative, empathetic, and student-focused
  • Experienced in working with young people or education settings (desirable)
  • Confident in managing group behaviour while providing effective guidance and support 
  • Highly organised and able to manage a varied workload
  • A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment
