Apprenticeship introduction

You will get the chance to add to your existing skills, while earning a wage and gaining more advanced technical knowledge of electro technical systems.

This course is for those employed in the construction industry as a electrician. You will come into College one day a week, to complete the underpinning knowledge and portfolio building to compile the evidence you need for your qualifications.

The apprenticeship is made up of the following elements:

  • NVQ 3 in Installing Electro Technical Systems and Equipment
  • Level 3 Diploma in Installing Electro Technical Systems
  • Employment rights and responsibilities
  • Personal learning and thinking skills
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in ICT

Duration: 60 months

Apprenticeship information

Electrotechnical - Installation Electrician/Maintenance Electrician - Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3

  • You will need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week as a electrician.
  • You will also need GCSEs at grades A* to C/9 to 4 or equivalent in English Language and Maths, however some employers may require additional qualifications depending on the role.

Adults who are aged 19+ with appropriate industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.

All applicants will be required to undertake an assessment in English and maths prior to enrolling.

There is continuous assessment of each unit. You will present evidence of competence via practical assessments and production of a personal portfolio of evidence.

  • Advanced Apprenticeship in Electrical

You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times during your placement and at College when using any tools/machinery.
