Christmas Textile Crafts — Part-time
Course outline
This course is perfect if you wish to get creative during the festive season and make your own Christmas cards, gifts and decorations for your friends, family or something special just for yourself.
This 6 week course is intended to be relaxed, friendly and fun so you can learn many new textile crafts and skills, inspired by Christmas themes, imagery, colours and all that that sparkles!
Christmas Crafts was so successful in 2023, that we are back in 2024 with more classes! This course is now available on Tuesdays and Thursdays across the same 6 weeks, giving you the opportunity to develop skills in more detail. Whether you are able to attend one or both days each week, you will be able to complete textile craft projects ready for the festive season!
A range of skills and techniques will be taught on Tuesdays and different skills on Thursdays so if you want to attend both, we would love to see you there!
You will learn to use a variety textile materials and equipment such as domestic sewing machine, felting tools, fabric printing machinery to produce products such as:
- Needlefelt Christmas Decorations
- Marbled Papers
- Gift Wrap/Tags, Decorations
- Heat Press Printed Wall Art
- Applique, Machine and Hand Embroidery Christmas Cards
- Stencil Printed Christmas Tote Bags
You can expect to gain many textile craft skills using a variety of traditional and non-traditional materials.
This is ideal for someone who is a beginner or would like to refresh and advance their own textile skills further. You will produce a sketchbook or file on your ideas, samples and design processes to inspire ideas for your own festive products.
This is a great opportunity to produce your own homemade artisan products for a fraction of the designer price!
Christmas Crafts is part of our Seasonal Craft Pathway which also includes Easter Crafts, Spring Crafts and Summer Crafts.
Our other pathways include Knit, textiles, Crafts for Wellbeing, Sewing and more!
