Elective Home Educated GCSE Programme

Course outline

This one-year programme is for students in the equivalent of Years 10 -11 and for those who are ready to undertake a GCSE programme (determined by gaining a grade 3 or above in English and maths online initial assessments administered by the college).

Each GCSE is delivered over 4 hours each week. There is also a personal and social development session included in the programme.

We recommend you study both GCSE English and Maths as part of your programme. If you join us in the equivalent of Year 10 you can study either English or Maths in the first year and the other in second year. If you join us in the equivalent of Year 11 you can study both in the same year.

Students can choose three or four subjects from the list below.

    • GCSE English Language
    • GCSE Maths
    • GCSE Business
    • GCSE Dance
    • GCSE History
    • GCSE Religious Studies
    • GCSE Sociology
    • GCSE Psychology
    • GCSE Biology
    • GCSE Chemistry
    • GCSE Physics

Students will sit a mock exam in January and GCSEs will be sat in May and June

Students on this programme can also apply for one of our half-day short courses for home educated students (timetable permitting), and would then only be able to apply for up to 3 GCSE options.
