Course introduction

This course is perfect if you would like to further your study in Art and Design. It is ideal if you maybe lack some confidence or have low level GCSE qualifications that are below the criteria for Level 1 and Level 2 Art.

It is ideal if you need support and are interested in developing your all round Art and Design skills while continuing to study English and Maths.

You will have a general introduction to the Art and Design industry with a varied focus on developing the skills required to work in the industry.

Creative skills will include: drawing, painting, print making, sculpture to name but a few.

You will develop your English, Maths, and study skills with the art and design curriculum running throughout all aspects of study. You will specifically develop your skills in time management, communication, research, writing, designing, organising your projects and meeting deadlines.

You must have 4 GCSEs at grades 1 - 9 and have an interest in Art and Design. This must include a grade 1 or above in both GCSE English Language and Maths.

You will be assessed by project-based assignments.

You can progress to other Art and Design courses.
