Course introduction

Would you like to improve your basic knowledge of the Spanish language?

This course is perfect for people who have followed a beginners course or if you are returning to the study of Spanish.

The course covers:

  • Re-cap of basic words and phrases
  • Basic vocabulary (countries, nationalities, weather, transport)
  • Grammar (conjugations, prepositions, verbs in the present tense)
  • Speaking (basic conversations, holiday dialogues, (book a table, room, hotel, food, etc), directions)
  • Speaking practice

You should attend regularly and arrive on time to make best progress on course.

You will use Microsoft Teams whilst on the course. Microsoft Teams is a free, safe online app used by Nottingham College for tutors to contact students.

Using Teams will also enable you to develop and feel confident using digital skills.

Course information

College Certificate

You must be aged 19+ and have a good standard of English as you will be required to complete a short workbook with the help of your tutor. You should also have very basic Spanish or completed the Spanish for Beginners course.

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.

There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham College sites.

The course tutor can discuss appropriate opportunities if you wish to further your learning in this subject area.

Community classes are first steps into learning for many adults, enabling them to find out more about a subject of interest in a welcoming, inclusive local venue.
