Summer Crafts — Part-time
Course outline
This six week course is perfect if you are a beginner and have an interest in learning new textile skills or if you would like to refresh your textile skills.
It will introduce you to textiles and you will learn the basics of a domestic sewing machine and be
able to explore and experiment with a range of techniques such as:
- Patch work
- Quilting
- Applique
- Machine embroidery
You will also gain experience in basic pattern cutting and sewing skills. A range of materials will be provided to you
throughout these sessions.
Throughout the six weeks you will put together a sketchbook/ file compiling samples and experiments from the week’s workshops. By the end of the course, you will have produced your own range of samples and constructed a
functioning product.
You can expect a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, excellent tutor teaching, new knowledge and skills in sewing and opportunities to develop your creativity.
