This is a great course for anyone who wants a career in hairdressing. You will be taught all the basic skills to be able to have a lifelong career in this incredible industry.

- Shampooing and conditioning hair
- Promote products and services
- Basic cutting
- Colour and lightening
- Perm and neutralise
- Art of dressing
- Create an image based on a theme
- Salon reception
You will be taught personal and social development skills, which will help prepare you for the industry and employment.

Entry requirements | You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grades 9–3 (A*–D), including English and maths – one of English or Maths must be grade 9–4 (A*–C). Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 4 (C) or above. All students must undertake and pass a practical dexterity test prior to enrolment to ensure you are suitable for this course. If you are a progressing student, you must have achieved 90% attendance and passed a relevant Level 1 course. Please speak to your tutor regarding your progression options. |
Teaching & assessment | Practical assessments will take place in one of our salons working on members in the group and clients, you can also bring along friends and family members for a pamper. Theory assessments will take place through exam, assignments and creating a mood board. |

Additional information | You will need to buy a kit and uniform. Kit and uniform costs are to be confirmed and will be discussed at interview. Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
