Home Educated Course Options for 14 – 16 year olds
Home educated students can now access college courses free of charge to enhance their home education. Nottingham College has been leading the way locally and nationally in creating programmes of study specifically for this group of young people. The 14 – 16 and Schools Team support these students on their learning journey from application, enrolment and through to the successful completion of their course.

Art and Design (Level 1 Short Course)
This qualification provides an engaging and relevant introduction to the world of Art and Design to students who are Home Educated.
Art and Design (Level 2 Short Course)
This course is available for Home Educated students who have completed the Level 1 course in previous years or who have a real flair for Art and Design.
Creative Media Production (Level 1 Short Course)
This qualification gives students who are Home Educated the opportunity to explore the ever-changing and exciting world of creative media production.
Elective Home Educated GCSE Programme
This one-year programme is for students in the equivalent of Years 10 -11 and for those who are ready to undertake a GCSE programme.
Elective Home Educated Pre-GCSE Programme
This one-year Level 1 programme is for students in the equivalent of Years 10 or 11 who are currently Home Educated.
Preparation for College (14-16 Entry 3)
This course has been designed to support 14-16 Home Educated students to develop their personal and social skills.
Preparation for College (14-16 Level 1)
If your child has studied the Entry 3 course last year, this programme may be the ideal progression opportunity for them to further develop the skills and knowledge already acquired.
Year 11 Infill Programme
We offer the opportunity for Year 11 Home Educated students to infill onto our Post-16, full-time vocational courses.
