In an exciting collaboration, Nottingham College has partnered with Rail Futures to launch a comprehensive Level 2 NVQ in Engineering Technologies course aimed at individuals aspiring to pursue a career in the railway industry. The course is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in this dynamic field.

The 6‑week course, scheduled to start on November 6th 2023, offers a range of specialised modules that cover various aspects of the railway sector. From track engineering to OLE construction, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s intricacies. With the guidance of experienced instructors and industry professionals, learners will receive hands-on training and real-world insights that will set them apart in the job market.

We are really pleased to be working with Rail Futures on the project. The difference in knowledge, skills and confidence that the participants on the programme have shown is amazing, with all of them on track to gain jobs and careers in such an important sector. The added bonus is the support we are also able to give to the Nottingham Heritage Railway Centre, where the practical elements of the course are addressing real world maintenance for them.

David Higham — Head of Growth and Innovation at Nottingham College

With this exciting collaboration, Nottingham College and Rail Futures are paving the way for a new generation of railway professionals. By providing comprehensive training and real-world experiences, this partnership is poised to make a significant impact on the railway industry.
