Journalism Foundation Degree Level 5

Validated by Nottingham Trent University.

If you've got a nose for a good story and great communication skills, journalism is for you.

This course has been developed in consultation with media industry experts and gives you the chance to become involved in community projects, external commissions, live briefs and competitions to prepare you for your career in journalism.

You’ll be using our television production studio, edit suites and multi-studio radio station to get hands-on experience.

You’ll gain confidence as an industry professional, work with increasing autonomy and independence and gain an insight into media cultures and employment opportunities.

In year one you will explore a variety of vocations within the broadcasting industries. In year two you will focus on journalism. Over the duration of the course you will gain a thorough grounding in broadcasting and journalism skills.

At the end of the course you can expect to find work in a range of areas including film production, camera operating, radio, television production, editing and online journalism.

We have great links with local, national and international companies who regularly look for graduates to join their organisations.
