Music (Performance) HND Level 5

The course is designed to prepare you for work in the music and creative industries as a performer, session musician, composer and/or teacher. This includes the growing area of music in media such as film and TV, games, advertising and web-based opportunities.

You’ll gain practical, industry-relevant experience, collaborate and network with your peers and creative industry professionals and perform live in bands and as solo artists in some of Nottingham’s best venues.

You’ll be viewed as a practicing professional with guided learning in the first year, preparing you for more autonomous and creative work in the second year. You will have the opportunity to conceive, plan and execute performances and projects in a wide range of settings, ranging from traditional music venues to art installations.

You will be encouraged to build on your own interests and experiences to develop a wide range of skills in business, live music, multimedia, music technology, song writing, composition and recording.

You’ll develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for successful performance in professional working life.
