This course is perfect if you would like to gain knowledge and skills of different ceramics processes and techniques and extend your research and development with the intent of using this to inform your own self directed project of ceramics work.

You will start the course with a series of ceramic workshops to build your skills and knowledge of ceramic processes and techniques. After the workshops, you’ll work to a brief to research, plan and develop ideas for a ceramic project. You will use your sketchbook as a way of evidencing your progress and work; developing design ideas, reflecting on your practical work and evaluating your outcomes.

You will receive an induction to our well resourced ceramic studio, excellent tutor teaching, new knowledge and skills in ceramics, and opportunities to develop your creativity.

Basic materials will be provided on the course. If you want to develop your work further, you can purchase art materials at our Art Shop based at 25 Stoney Street, as well as additional clay from our ceramics department.
