Porcelain is the purest ceramic material which is why it is referred to as ‘white gold’!
In this course we will experiment with a number of different ceramic processes which lend themselves well to being produced in porcelain.
Over the duration of the course, we will celebrate the qualities of porcelain as a material, which is renowned for its delicate beauty and versatility – we will learn about it in terms of form, texture and colour and encourage individual creativity to produce personal and original contemporary porcelain pieces.
You will receive an induction to our well resourced 3D and Ceramics Studio, excellent tutor teaching, new knowledge and skills in porcelain jewellery, and opportunities to develop your creativity within clay porcelain processes.
Porcelain clay, stains and glazes will be provided on the course. If you want to develop your work further, you can purchase materials at our Art Shop based at 25 Stoney Street
Please email Alexandra.rayner@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk for further information.
Please note: Due to the high demand of these part time courses, if you start a course but can no longer carry on, you will not be eligible for a full course refund. If you get remitted fees and attend your course for free, if you do not attend the first two sessions without letting the tutor know or without valid reason, you will be withdrawn from the course. Many thanks for your understanding.
