Course introduction

Term 1 is for you if you have an interest in ceramics particularly the purity of porcelain.

Term 2 is perfect if you would like to further develop your skills when working with porcelain.

Porcelain is the purest ceramic material which is why it is referred to as ‘white gold’.

In this course we look to practice your skills and deepen your knowledge of different ceramic processes which lend themselves particularly to the production of porcelain components.

You will develop your creative process by working on designs using porcelain.

You will receive an induction to our well resourced Ceramics Studio, supportive tutoring, new knowledge and skills in porcelain and opportunities to develop your creativity within clay porcelain processes.

Please note: Due to the high demand of these part time courses, if you start a course but can no longer carry on, you will not be eligible for a full course refund. If you enrol on a course and the start date passes, you will not be eligible for a course material fee refund. If you get remitted fees and attend your course for free, if you do not attend the first two sessions without letting the tutor know or without valid reason, you will be withdrawn from the course. Many thanks for your understanding.

The difference in price of the courses is informed by the type of qualification you will receive at the end, they are not defined by the course weeks or course title. You can find more information on the qualification type by scrolling down this page. For each qualification type there will be a different workload, different workbooks to complete and with some there may some required independent study to ensure you are able to meet the requirements of the qualification. The price of the course is an indication of this. It is up to you which qualification you would prefer and for how long you would like to study. Financial support is available to a range of our adult courses so please check if you eligible: Fee and funding support for students aged 19+. Each qualification type can only be studied once, so please check this information before enrolling.

These qualification types are being piloted for this year to best support learners and develop their skills. If you have any feedback regarding these then please contact us on ArtAndDesign@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk
