Course introduction

This is perfect for any beginner who is interested in learning creative print-making processes.

You will need prior experience for the Advanced Course in Term 3.

Introduction to Print-Making

This class is perfect for beginners with no previous experience of Printmaking. Throughout the period of the course, you will be introduced to a variety of different printing techniques, such as mono printing, lino printing and dry-point printing. You will explore each process for 2 weeks to produce your own work, with the opportunity to further explore and develop your ideas more independently in the final 2 weeks.

Explore Lino-Printing

This class is for people who would like to learn the lino printing process and develop their skills. Throughout the 8-week period, you will have the opportunity to create and produce a variety of lino prints using the workshop facilities in led sessions. Outcomes include repeat patterns, cards, reduction printing and the opportunity to develop your ideas more independently in the final 2 weeks.

Advanced Lino-Printing

This class is for people that have done previous printing courses with us and are confident with the lino printing process, but would like the opportunity to use our workshop facilities to independently produce their own printed outcomes. A member of staff will facilitate the session and be available to support with practical queries and offer guidance on independent projects.

You will receive an induction to our well-resourced Print Studio, excellent tutor teaching and guidance from staff who are industry experts, new knowledge and skills in print-making, and opportunities to develop your creativity within 2D print processes.

Basic inks and paper will be provided on the course. If you want to develop your work further you can purchase art materials at our Art Shop based at 25 Stoney Street.

Please note: Due to the high demand of these part time courses, if you start a course but can no longer carry on, you will not be eligible for a full course refund. If you enrol on a course and the start date passes, you will not be eligible for a course material fee refund. If you get remitted fees and attend your course for free, if you do not attend the first two sessions without letting the tutor know or without valid reason, you will be withdrawn from the course. Many thanks for your understanding.
