Sculptural Ceramics and Hand-building — Part-time

Course outline

Whether you're a beginner, or an intermediate level ceramicist looking to expand your skill set, this course is the perfect place to practice your sculptural ceramic techniques.

Led by an expert ceramicist, this short course will give you the opportunity to learn the principles of sculptural and fine art ceramics and to develop and extend your hand-building techniques.

Explore the endless possibilities of clay as you learn to mold, shape, and create three-dimensional works of art. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the fundamentals of hand-building, from coil construction and slab building, to figurative forms and features. Discover the joy of translating your artistic vision into tangible, tactile forms that capture the imagination.

You will receive an induction to our well resourced 3D and Ceramics Studio, excellent tutor teaching, new knowledge and skills in hand-building techniques, and opportunities to develop your creativity within clay processes.

Clay, stains and glazes will be provided on the course. If you want to develop your work further, you can purchase art materials at our Art Shop based at 25 Stoney Street
