Course introduction

This course is perfect if you'd like to develop your skills on a day long programme in Screenprinting. 

This class is targeted at students who may have tried the process before but would like more time and support to explore the process and understand the technicalities. 

Throughout the day you will learn a variety of techniques and processes in Screenprinting.  

Screen printing, also known as silk screen printing, is a printing method where ink is pushed through a fine mesh screen onto a substrate, such as fabric or paper. A stencil is used to block areas where ink should not pass, allowing precise designs to be printed repeatedly. This technique is widely used for t-shirts, posters and promotional items due to its durability, speed and versatility.  

You will create a range of different pieces of work which you can take home with you, either on the day or at an arranged later date.

Course information

There are no entry requirements but you must be aged 19+.

You may also like to join us for other available courses during the week of our Adult Summer Arts Programme. These include: Beadwork, Printmaking, Life Drawing, Life Painting with oils, Sketch booking, Ceramics Throwing and Turning , Mixed Media and Gelli Printing and Model Making.

You can also progress onto our part-time adult classes in art and design in 2026/2027.

Please make sure you are dressed appropriately as some art and design classes may get messy. You may want to bring an overshirt or apron to protect your clothes.  

You may also want to bring with you some drawing or writing equipment as you may need this throughout the day.
