We encourage our students to dive in and take an active role in shaping their student experience.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in student life outside of the classroom, with all sorts of hands-on experiences to explore.
The HE Student Union is run by students for students, aspiring to ensure that all members get the most from their total student experience.
The Students’ Union offers you the chance to take part in numerous events and activities throughout the year.
If there is an activity you are particularly interested in, they can also set up a club or society, so you can take part on a regular basis.
The SU seek to:
Provide advice and representation for all students through Learner Voice and student lead campaigns
Co-ordinate a range of vibrant enriching and entertaining social activities
Provide opportunities for personal growth and development
Through these goals, Nottingham College Students’ Union will always seek to promote a better quality of student life.
Nottingham College SU is primarily run to ensure that the voice of learners is heard by senior college staff, your lecturers and the local community. Learner Voice is a key mechanism for gathering feedback from our students, allowing us to continually improve your experience here.
Learner Voice representatives meet on a regular basis to comment on the student experience and make suggestions for improvements. You'll have an opportunity to express your views and have your say.
Students on our full-time higher education courses have access to a wide selection of free sports sessions and sports teams, that are available as part of the Nottingham College sport programme. They are a great way to meet new people and develop new skills in the process.
We run competitive football and basketball teams that play in the AoC Sport league on a Wednesday afternoon. There are also six week taster sessions, as well as a range of sports that run all year round including golf, crickets, badminton, ice skating and many more.
Volunteering is a great way to boost your CV, meet new people and feel great about helping others. You can get involved in community opportunities listed on our pages or through Nottingham Trent Students' Union by enrolling on their volunteer programme.
