Job description

Your future is here
A place to inspire

In a teaching role at Nottingham College you will play a vital part in helping thousands of people reach their potential. We are Nottingham’s College and together, we make a positive difference to our learners, to our communities and to each other. We’re building better futures, for others and for ourselves. Our teachers bring experience, flair, industry connections, passion and care to their roles and in return we invest in them. Here, you have the freedom to work in a way that suits you, the support to thrive and the opportunity to shape your career.

Who we need

We are looking for a Digital Lecturer to give our students practical, industry-relevant skills across networking, software, and cybersecurity. The majority of teaching required will be with Entry 3 and Level 1 students.

Entry 3 ICT

You will deliver Digital Skills programmes that develop learners' confidence and competence in using technology for everyday life, learning, and employment, including:

  • Teaching learners how to find, evaluate, and use information from the internet to create digital documents, images, and presentations.
  • Developing learners' understanding of online safety, digital responsibility, and good cyber security practices.
  • Supporting learners to communicate effectively in both social and professional settings using email, messaging platforms, and social media.
  • Enabling learners to access online services, complete digital applications, and search and apply for employment opportunities online.

Through practical and engaging learning experiences, you will help learners develop the digital literacy skills needed for further study, employment, and participation in an increasingly digital world.

Level 1 ICT

You will deliver Level 1 ICT programmes that provide learners with a broad foundation in IT and digital technologies, helping them develop the skills required for further study, apprenticeships, and careers within the digital and business sectors. Key areas of delivery include:

  • Developing learners' digital productivity skills through the effective use of word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software.
  • Teaching creative and multimedia technologies, including imaging, design, desktop publishing, audio, and website development software.
  • Supporting learners to understand IT software fundamentals, digital systems, and how to set up and manage IT equipment.
  • Embedding employability, problem-solving, and digital communication skills that prepare learners for progression into further education and the workplace.

Through practical and engaging learning activities, you will help learners build a broad range of technical and transferable skills that are highly valued across the modern IT and business sectors.

Relevant IT qualifications are essential as per the above content requirements.
