Dressmaking Techniques — Part-time
Course outline
These courses are for adults who are beginners or have existing experience in textiles, crafting or sewing at any level.
These classes are sociable and you will have the opportunity to practice a range of guided technique workshops supported by our technically skilled tutors. Your experienced tutor will support with developing a pattern, choosing fabrics and sewing your bespoke items!
These courses are part of our Sewing Pathway of Adult Part-Time courses:
- Kitchen Crafts and Home Furnishings
- If you are interested in creating home furnishings or craft items for the kitchen including oven gloves, aprons, cushions or other soft furnishings then this is the course for you!
- Sewing Bags
- If you are interested in creating a variety of bag shapes and styles then this is the course for you!
- Sewing Kids' Fashion
- If you are interested in creating a range of different kids clothing including rompers, trousers or shorts and tops, then this is the course for you!
- Sewing a Spring Dress
- If you are interested in sewing a dress which is perfect for warmer days and spring weather, then this is the course for you! Your dress will be woven and you will have the option to add pockets, trims and details to customise your design!
- Sewing Accessories
- If you are interested in creating a range of different accessories including bags, scarves, hair accessories or purses, then this is the course for you!
- Dressmaking - Make What You Bring - Part 1
- Unlock your creativity with this dressmaking course, designed for adults looking to explore or expand their fashion skills in a self-led environment. Whether you're working on your own projects or eager to just sew, you’ll have access to all our professional facilities, including industrial and domestic machines. Benefit from specialist tutor support throughout the course, offering guidance when needed, while enjoying the freedom to work independently at your own pace. Perfect for dressmakers, designers, or anyone passionate about sewing!
