Nottingham College delivers around 20–25 construction courses at our Basford campus, ranging from Entry Level through to Level 3 Diplomas and Apprenticeships.

Our programmes cover key trades including Plumbing, Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery, Plastering and Painting & Decorating, alongside Construction Multi-Skills, Health & Safety in Construction, and emerging Green Skills programmes such as Retrofit and Heat Pump technologies.

Basford has been a centre for construction training for nearly three decades and is home to one of the region’s largest construction training facilities. Recent investment includes the £5.4 million Construction Skills Centre, with further development planned through the Centre for Sustainable Construction Technology, supporting future skills in sustainable and low-carbon construction.

Students learn in industry-standard workshops and specialist classrooms, supported by a team of 30+ experienced staff and using professional tools and materials from leading construction brands. This ensures learners gain the practical skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for employment within the construction sector.
