High Pavement Sixth Form, part of Nottingham College, were proud to host the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Tuesday, 21st November 2023.

Our High Pavement Sixth Form campus were proud to host the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Tuesday, 21st November 2023. The event was organised and arranged by the Nottingham Pythian Club, an organisation that directly work towards supporting and mentoring young people with the aim of reducing youth violence.

The 4-hour session, led by experts in the legal field, provided over 100 law students with an awareness of the work of the CPS, case law scenarios to discuss and evaluate, career options associated with the study of law, and inspirational input from a former judge.

Deputy Head, Ryan Metters said “The CPS and former Judge Burgess really enriched the learning experience of High Pavement law A Level students. Through using examples, they really brought the subject to life, shared their experiences of working in the legal profession and provided students with a range of really important career route for the future.

One of the High Pavement Sixth Form students, Arda, said “the event was really interesting and useful. It was good to have a judge there and the CPS provided a real insight into their work.”

High Pavement and The Pythian Club intend to continue to work together in the future.
