This week Nottingham College hosted its first ever annual Partnership Celebration Day, an event dedicated to celebrating the college's connections with industry and strengthening relationships within the local community.
In attendance were some of the region’s most recognisable businesses and organisations, including GF Tomlinson, Balfour Beatty, Specsavers, Halfords and Lindleys Autocentres.
Throughout the year, delegates from these businesses have attended our Industry Advisory Boards, where they have provided cutting edge sector insights to inform and co-design our courses. These partnerships ensure Nottingham College’s training and education provision matches industry need and gives students the most up-to-date and relevant skills and experience before they embark on their future careers.
The end of year celebration event gave attendees the opportunity to reflect on what an impact these partnerships have had over the last 12 months, with presentations from Nottingham College Chief Executive and Principal Janet Smith and Nikki Patterson, Midlands Regional Director from the CBI.
Hosted at our grade 2 listed former lace factory Adams campus, a highlight of the event was the tour of the student-led Art Exhibition. Guests were then able to commission art pieces, providing valuable work experience for the students. A huge thank you to all businesses who put forward prospective projects.
The day was a fitting end to a year of collaboration between Nottingham College and our partner employers. Here’s to the next 12 months of innovation and insights!
