Last week marked a significant milestone for Omoda / Jaecoo UK, as the company held it’s 2025 Skills Competition at Emtec, one of the buildings at Nottingham College’s Ruddington campus an ideal venue dedicated to automotive excellence. The event brought together top talent from the brand’s dealer network, showcasing technical skill, precision and innovation.
This skills competition is to establish a technician to attend the Global Skills competition at Omoda & Jaecoo Headquarters in China. We asked all dealer technicians to complete an online assessment; we then took the top 12 as finalists to take part in the skills competition. Testing them over the two days on various tasks including a vehicle check, a vehicle non-start fault and a Hybrid vehicle high voltage system fault.

The competition was designed to challenge participants across a range of real-world scenarios. Each task was carefully scored, with individuals earning points based on a detailed marking criteria.
"The event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Nottingham College" Green added.
“We are grateful to Nottingham College for giving us a place to make this possible. Providing the workshops, all printed materials, equipment on the day, food and drink for the contestants and the overall setting up of the event,” said Green.
We’re proud to support initiatives like the Omoda / Jaecoo UK Skills Competition. Events like this not only showcase the incredible talent within the industry but also highlight the importance of hands-on learning and collaboration. It’s a pleasure to host and be part of something that aligns so closely with our mission to develop the next generation of automotive professionals.
