1. Get Organised
A new year is the perfect opportunity to get on top of things. Grab a planner, use your calendar, or stick some post-it notes on your wall. Write down key dates like deadlines, classes, and important events so you can stay ahead and avoid last-minute panics.

2. Set Realistic Goals
Focus on a couple of goals that feel achievable, whether it’s improving your grades, learning a new skill, or just making it to class on time. Small wins add up! A good technique to use is setting up SMART goals. The SMART goal technique helps you set clear, achievable objectives by ensuring they are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. 3. Create a Routine
Getting back into the swing of things after a break can feel a bit overwhelming, so try to establish a routine that works for you. Block out time for studying, self-care, and hanging out with friends. A good routine doesn’t have to be strict, it just needs to keep you balanced and on track.

4. Look After Yourself
The new year comes with a lot of pressure to be your “best self,” but don’t forget the basics. Get plenty of sleep, eat well, and take time for yourself. If you’re feeling stressed, talk to someone about it - we have lots of support available at the college. Speak to your Tutor, Personal Development Tutor or our Wellbeing Team, they'll be on hand to help you with any issues you're facing. Taking care of your mental and physical health is crucial in achieving your goals.

5. Get Involved
College is about more than just studying, it’s about connecting with others and finding your place in the community. Why not join a society, attend a workshop, or explore volunteering opportunities? It’s a great way to meet new people and discover what you’re passionate about. Find out more here: https://www.nottinghamcollege.ac.uk/student-life/enrichment

6. Take Time to Reflect
Before diving headfirst into 2025, take a moment to think about last year. What went well? What could you improve? Reflection is a powerful tool for figuring out what you want to achieve and how to get there.

Let’s make 2025 a year to remember! We’re here to support you every step of the way. Here’s to a happy and successful 2025.
