Our City Hub campus welcomed hundreds of future apprentices to its Apprenticeship Open Evening on Wednesday 11th February. The event gave attendees the opportunity to explore the wide range of apprenticeship opportunities available and meet leading employers from across various industries.

With over 300+ attendees and 24 employer stands, the event was a huge success, highlighting the relationships between Nottingham College and employers from various sectors. Companies such as Pendragon, Blackburn Starling, Coles Sewing Centre, Perkins Family, Flame UK, East Midlands Airport, and Barons Eden were on hand to discuss their apprenticeship vacancies and career pathways.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presence of Harry Hydrogen, the hydrogen-powered car, brought by EMTEC, opening conversations about the future of green technology and sustainable careers.

Throughout the event, prospective apprentices attended a welcome presentation outlining the benefits of apprenticeships and the support available at Nottingham College, met with employers, learned about available roles, received guidance on applications, and even had the opportunity to engage with current apprentices. Our apprenticeship team was also on hand to provide tailored advice, helping attendees take the next steps towards securing an apprenticeship.

Last night's Apprenticeship Open Evening was a resounding success, bringing together talented individuals eager to start their career journey and businesses looking to fill crucial skills gaps. I’m incredibly proud of how we’ve created a platform that not only supports the growth of local businesses but also helps young people take that all-important first step towards a fulfilling career. With the ongoing skills gap crisis, initiatives like this are vital for securing a brighter future for both employers and apprentices alike. By fostering these connections, we are contributing to the long-term strength and sustainability of our workforce
