On Wednesday 12th November our Community Faculty held a Wellbeing Morning for over 90 adult students and their tutors. It was a great chance for everyone to find out about the support available in Nottingham and to meet some of the organisations that provide it.
Students spent time chatting with representatives from Nottingham Mind, The Place, Refugee Forum, Carers Federation and our own College Wellbeing Team. These conversations helped students learn more about where they can turn for advice and support.
We want to thank our ESOL tutors, our ESOL Heads of Faculty and Foundation Curriculum Manager Jo Ritchie for helping to make the event happen and for providing the space we needed. A big thank you also goes to our Hair and Beauty Faculty, especially Louise Shelton and her students, who added something special to the day.
There was plenty of creativity too. Our Community tutors Neelum, Ravinder and Maryam ran activities that encouraged students to relax and enjoy themselves. These included painting and drawing, jewellery making and a happiness board filled with positive ideas. The activities were a big hit and helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Wellbeing Morning showed how much can be achieved when our college and local organisations work together. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success. We’re looking forward to more events like this that give our learners the chance to connect and feel supported.
