Applying to Nottingham College, and what happens next.
Applying to college is an exciting step towards becoming future ready!
When you’re ready to apply, here’s what your journey to joining us looks like:
Stage 1. Apply via our website
Start by choosing the course that you think is right for you. You can browse our full list of courses, along with their entry requirements and progression opportunities, on our website and then you can apply directly online.
If you’re not sure about which option to choose, come along to one of our open days to talk to our subject tutors or book an appointment with our careers advisers.
Once you’ve submitted your application, you'll receive an email to confirm we’ve got your details registered.
Many of our courses are very popular, so it’s a good idea to apply as soon as you can.
Top tip: Make sure you use your own personal email address (not your school one) so we can stay in touch with you throughout the year.
Applied to High Pavement? Your application journey looks a little different – see the FAQs to find out more.
If you need help completing your online application form, you can find our handy guide here.
Stage 2. Meet the Team
After applying, you’ll be invited to a Meet the Team event, at campus where the course you have applied for is based. This is your chance to visit your subject area, meet your future tutors and make sure this is the right course for you.
This is a really important part of your application journey, as completing this stage means you’ll be among the first to receive your enrolment appointment and therefore will be more likely to get a place on your first-choice course.
Stage 3. Get Ready for College Day
In June/July 2026, you’ll be invited to a Get Ready for College day. This is your opportunity to meet your future classmates and get a feel for college life before you start with us in September 2026!
You’ll take part in taster sessions and activities linked to your course, and it's a great time to ask any final questions to make sure you’re fully prepared.
Just like a Meet the Team event, coming to this event gives you the best possible chance of getting a place on your preferred course at Nottingham College.
Stage 4. Enrol
Enrolment is right after GCSE results day and is when you will when you officially become a Nottingham College student. This year, results day falls on Thursday 20 August 2026 and enrolment is always in person, so you must be available – don’t book a holiday after this date!
Once you’ve completed all of the stages above, and met the entry requirements, you’ll be invited to enrol.
You’ll be invited to enrol at a particular day and time, and priority is given to those who have completed all of the previous stages, so it’s really important you apply early and come to both a Meet the Team and Get Ready for College day.
Some courses fill up quickly, but don’t worry! There is a place for you at Nottingham College. If for whatever reason your first-choice course is full, we’ll help you explore alternative options in other subject areas.
Need a reminder of your entry requirements? Have a look at the course page.
