Our centre in the Lace Market is made up of a number of buildings — the largest and most impressive being the iconic Adams Building.
This former lace mill from the 1800’s was once the centre point of the UK’s world renowned lace manufacturing industry but now it’s home to Fashion & Textiles, ESOL, Hair and Beauty, some of our Access to HE courses and our HE centre.
The building itself is some seven floors and in our fashion and textiles rooms right at the top of the building, you can enjoy some amazing views of the city. The area has been named Nottingham’s Creative Quarter where hundreds of small creative businesses operate from. This connectivity and vibrant environment gives our creative students a head start!

The Adams Building has its own Food for Thought refectory offering a wide range of hot and cold food, drinks and snacks.
Plus, with the centre being situated in the heart of Hockley and the Creative Quarter (also known as 'Nottingham's Soho') you'll never be short of coffee shops and cafés for relaxing and meeting up with friends.
The library has a range of desktop PC and laptops, all equipped with the Microsoft Office applications and the Internet. PCs are available on a drop-in basis and are also pre-bookable for up to three weeks in advance. You can even borrow items such as cameras and headphones.
Free WiFi is also available throughout our libraries along with scanning facilities and colour and black and white printers and photocopiers.
There are a range of study spaces in the library, whether you need independent study space or a group working area.
Our qualified and experienced staff are on hand to help you with your day-to-day studies, including help with finding information, researching a topic, using the PCs, creating documents and presentations, compiling bibliographies and reference lists.
