As the majority of our Access students are returning to learning as adults, we consider a range of experience when accepting students onto an Access programme. All students will be assessed to see what level they are learning at, particularly the level of English and maths skills, as these will be key to success whilst on a programme at Nottingham College. Your experience and level of study will be assessed at interview and this will determine your offer of a place at College.

The standard entry requirements for a level 3 programme at the College is:

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade 9 to 4/A* to C, including English Language and Maths; or
  • A relevant Level 2 vocational qualification plus English Language and Maths at GCSE Grade A* to C/9 to 4 however relevant work experience will be considered as a substitute for a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification

Level 2 Functional Skills Maths may be used as an equivalent for GCSE Maths. If you have GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Level 2 in English you may undertake an initial assessment to determine your level of English.
