Apprenticeship introduction

This apprenticeship is perfect for 16-21 year old learners who wish to work in health and social care but need to obtain the level 2 qualification alongside this.  The Level 2 Health & Social Care Foundation Apprenticeship is designed as an entry point into the sector.

You will work across health and social care settings, including GP’s and hospitals or as part of a community team within individuals homes.  The foundation apprenticeship prepares you with core knowledge, skills, and behaviours that lead into more specialist roles.

Health and Social Care Foundation Apprenticeship

You will need 3’s or equivalent in English Language and Maths. Some employers may require additional qualifications depending on the role

You will need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a relevant job, but we can assist you in finding a placement.

Adults who are aged 16-21 with appropriate industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.

All applicants will be required to undertake an assessment in English and maths prior to enrolling.

This apprenticeship includes a knowledge test and practical assessment.  Requirements for this apprenticeship will mean having 6 hours per week off the job training to work on the qualification.

You can progress to a standard Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeship after completing the foundation programme.
