Course introduction

This course if perfect for you if you would like to develop your skills with a variety of drawing processes and explore working in a sketchbook to document your creative process.

This class is targeted at students who have not necessarily worked in a sketchbook before but would like to learn the basics. Equally if you do have experience, this course may give you the opportunity to spend some time refreshing skills and being creative again.

Throughout the course you will learn a variety of techniques and processes which you can use to create a varied and interesting sketchbook. You will work with a range of dry drawing media, such as pencil, pen, charcoal, chalks and pastels developing techniques of line, tone and limited colour palettes.

You will receive an induction into our well resourced art and design department, as well supportive tutoring, new knowledge and skills in material use, and opportunities to develop your creativity.

At the end of the course you will have produced a considered and interesting body of work in a sketchbook.

Please note: Due to the high demand of these part time courses, if you start a course but can no longer carry on, you will not be eligible for a full course refund. If you enrol on a course and the start date passes, you will not be eligible for a course material fee refund. If you get remitted fees and attend your course for free, if you do not attend the first two sessions without letting the tutor know or without valid reason, you will be withdrawn from the course.
