Read about our Prince's Trust Awards Ceremony last night!

Last night (13th December), we held our first Prince's Trust Awards at our Fletcher's Theatre in the City Hub. The event was held to celebrate all the students who have now completed the 12-week course!

The Prince's Trust (now called The King's Trust) offers courses for individuals aged 16-25 who are looking for an opportunity to boost their confidence, prepare for the next step in their career, or consider different options before making a firm decision on what they want to do next. It gives students a chance to gain new skills, earn a qualification, and meet new people.

Last night, staff, students, and family members of those who completed the course were invited to celebrate the success of the students, hear about what they did in each week of the course, and find out their highlights from the course. Students also explained what courses they are progressing onto next year. The event was organised by Nottingham College staff: Phoebe Collingridge, Ashleigh Stirland, Talia Dixon, and Joshua Warwick.

The course consisted of 12 weeks, which included a residential trip and a community project. As part of the course, students raised money through a tea and cake sale. They then used the money raised, along with some extra donations from staff, to buy paint supplies. The paint supplies were then used by the students in their community project as they designed and decorated a local office.

Thirteen students completed this 12-week programme, with one learner progressing onto a multi-skills course in January with Access Training, and the other twelve going on to foundation learning at Adams.
