Learn about how our students volunteered their time to help renovate Wollaton Library so it could be reopened for the local community.
After Wollaton Library had to close due to a problem with the windows, our Joinery and Painting and Decorating students volunteered their skills.
Our students and lecturers worked together to repaint the space and replace shelving, some of which was repurposed from Central Library. This has benefitted the local community and expanded their skills and knowledge outside of college.
Students and staff attended the re-opening of Wollaton Library to see the hard work they put in and got to see the space being used by residents from the area.
Students were supported by staff from Nottingham College and Wollaton Library with the project being overseen by their tutors.
We heard from Sandra Edis, a representative who attended the Wollaton Library re-opening. She said:
"We’re really proud of all the staff and students who volunteered throughout this project!"
