Who we need

Our flagship City Hub campus, in the heart of Nottingham city, is seeking a values-led and data driven Head of Faculty to provide strategic and operational leadership across our science curriculum. Working closely with the Assistant Principal, you will lead curriculum development, quality improvement and day-to-day delivery, ensuring our students benefit from an aspirational, inclusive and nurturing learning experience that supports strong outcomes and positive destinations. Key responsibilities include:

· Lead and develop a responsive science curriculum that meets students' needs, local and regional skills priorities, employer expectations and funding opportunities.

· Provide clear, supportive and accountable leadership for the Curriculum Manager and teaching team, creating the conditions for high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.

· Use data, management information and quality assurance activity to drive improvement in attendance, retention, achievement, student experience and progression.

· Take operational responsibility for curriculum performance, including effective planning, staffing, resource deployment, group sizes, room utilisation and budget awareness.

What you’ll bring

You will bring proven curriculum leadership experience, with the confidence and credibility to lead teams, shape high-quality provision and deliver sustained improvement. Motivated by excellent student outcomes, you will combine strong educational insight with the ability to turn strategic priorities into effective, day-to-day practice.

You will understand the opportunities and challenges facing further education and be able to lead confidently in a changing environment. With a track record of improving teaching, learning and

assessment, you will know how to use curriculum innovation, including digital approaches, to raise standards and support the highest outcomes for students.

As a people leader, you will be able to motivate, develop and support your curriculum team to thrive through coaching, clear communication and effective performance management. You will also be confident using data, quality information and management systems to identify priorities, monitor progress and take timely action where improvement is needed.

Above all, you will bring professionalism, integrity and a genuine commitment to safeguarding and inclusion. You will role model Nottingham College’s values, building trusted relationships with colleagues, students and partners while helping to create a faculty where everyone can belong, achieve and progress.
