Course introduction

This course is perfect if you want to explore and develop your illustration, photography and digital art skills and knowledge.

You will learn how to build your confidence through creativity!

You will build core skills that could lead onto a career as a digital artist, photographer, animator, illustrator or concept artist for games.

Our core focus is on:

  • Manual and digital illustration
  • Photography
  • Traditional and digital animation
  • Concept art and character design for games
  • Software skills in Photoshop and Illustrator

You can expect to be involved in various projects using a wide range of different digital and artistic techniques.

Course information

1 year

College Certificate

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grades 3–1, including Maths or English Language at 2 or above. However, as we want this course to be accessible, we will consider applicants with at least a Level 1 in Functional Skills Maths and English.

Assessment is continuous throughout the course.

Choose to follow with a Level 2 course in Creative Media Production, Content Creation or Photography.

Alternatively you could seek employment in the creative media production sector or move on to a related vocational (career-related) programme.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
