Course introduction

This course is designed to help candidates learn, develop, and practice the skills necessary for employment and/or advancing in the field of painting and decorating.

Topics include:

  • Health and Safety
  • Communications
  • Basic tool skills
  • Preparation of surfaces
  • Applying paint using brush and roller techniques

You will be expected to study English and maths throughout your programme of study.

Classes will be mainly practical but theory sessions will also be included.

You will have the opportunity to participate in enrichment activities, such as industry and community-based projects, as well as trips and visits.

You will need GCSE English and Maths at grade 1 or equivalent.

Practical models and multiple choice question papers

Further painting and decorating qualifications.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
