Course introduction

This course is designed to help candidates learn, develop, and practice the skills necessary for employment and/or advancing in the field of plumbing.

Introduction to plumbing skills and techniques practical and theories to include:

  • Health and safety
  • Communications
  • Basic tool skills
  • Copper pipework
  • Low carbon steel pipework
  • Plastic pipework
  • Repair and maintenance of plumbing systems

You will be expected to study Functional Skills English and maths throughout your programme of study.

Classes will be mainly practical although theory sessions will also be included. You will have the opportunity to participate in enrichment activities, such as industry and community-based projects, as well as trips and visits.

You will need GCSE English and Maths at grade 2 or equivalent.

Practical models and multiple choice question papers.

Further plumbing qualifications.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
