Course introduction
This course is ideal if you are aiming to progress onto an Access to Higher Education course in Business or Law but need to gain or resit GCSE English and Maths. Both GCSEs can be studied alongside your main qualification, allowing you to achieve everything you need within one year.
You will complete a range of engaging modules linked to business, law, and finance, giving you a strong foundation for further study or future careers. Topics include:
- Business structures and organisation
- How businesses are formed and incorporated
- Legal frameworks affecting businesses
- The role of finance in business decision-making
- Company registration and compliance, including incorporation through Companies House
Alongside subject knowledge, you will develop the academic skills needed for success at higher education level, including research, written assignments, and professional discussion.
Throughout the course, students will actively develop the Future 6 skills, preparing them for higher education and the workplace:
- Analytical Skills – Evaluating business models, legal principles, and financial information to support informed decision-making.
- Leadership Skills – Collaborative projects and discussions encourage initiative, teamwork, and leadership confidence.
