Course introduction

This course is perfect if you would like to develop their skills on a day long programme in Model Making.  

This course is perfect for beginners that would like to learn what model making for different industries entails and learn a range of skills.  

Model making is a versatile process, often used in a variety of industries such as Architecture, Theatre and TV and Film to help show ideas in a visual way. 

You will learn the importance of scale and work with mountboard to produce your own model for the industry of your choice.  

You will be able to take home what you have created either on the day or at an arranged later date.  

Course information

There are no formal entry requirements but you must be aged 19+.

You may also like to join us for other available courses during the week of our Adult Summer Arts Programme. These include: Beadwork, Printmaking, Life Drawing, Life Painting with oils, Sketch booking, Ceramics Throwing and Turning , Mixed Media and Gelli Printing and Model Making.

You can also progress onto our Part-Time adult classes in art and design in 2026/2027.

Please make sure you are dressed appropriately as some art and design classes may get messy. You may want to bring an overshirt or apron to protect your clothes.  

You may also want to bring with you some drawing or writing equipment as you may need this throughout the day.
