Need a bit of extra help at college?
We get it, everyone learns differently, and sometimes you might need a bit of extra support to help you feel confident and keep up with your studies. Whether you’ve got a learning difficulty, a disability, a health condition, or just need someone to talk to, we’re here for you.
Let’s get you set up
If you think you’ll need support, let us know as early as possible, even before you start college. We’ll chat with you, look at any info you’ve got (like a support plan or diagnosis), and work out what kind of help would suit you best.
Here’s some of the stuff we can offer:
- Advice for your tutors so they understand how to support you
- Tech tools to make learning easier (plus help using them)
- One-to-one support or help in class
- Learning materials that work for you
- Study and exam skills workshops
- Someone to talk to if things feel overwhelming
- Help connecting with outside support if needed
We want you to feel confident, independent, and ready to smash your goals.
What support could look like
Once you’re enrolled and we’ve had a proper chat, you might get:
- Workshops to help with learning
- One-to-one or in-class support
- Help with reading, writing, or maths
- Specialist resources
- Personal care support
- Support with exams and study skills
Support for specific needs
We’ve got Deaf Access Communicators who use British Sign Language (BSL) to help you follow lessons and get involved in college life. We also offer deaf awareness training.
We’ll make sure your course works for you, with tailored support and adjustments.
Feeling anxious, stressed, or just not yourself? You can get confidential support, no pressure to tell your tutor or anyone else if you don’t want to.
We offer:
- Personalised support plans
- Regular check-ins with a Support Tutor
- Help in class or at lunch from Learning Support Assistants
- Support with organisation, social skills, and dealing with change
Support might include:
- Help with mobility or personal care
- Working with professionals like occupational therapists
