Course introduction

This course is perfect if you have a keen interest in hair styling, or a previous qualification and would like to further develop your skills into bridal looks.

You will learn: 

  • Communication and consultation techniques
  • Contra-indications to hair treatments
  • Health, safety and hygiene
  • Preparation
  • Completing bridal hair services and adapting to create different bridal looks, including traditional and vintage.
  • Home and after care
  • Business advice

You can expect a dedicated team of lecturers, who have a wealth of industry skills and experience, creating an exciting and vibrant atmosphere for your learning

This course will be hands-on, where you will experience the latest industry trends and techniques, using high quality products. 

You will be expected to work on each other and models/clients, carrying out treatments, in addition to studying the underpinning knowledge required to pass end of unit test.

College certificate accredited through ABT.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course, although you do require a good level of English skills, and a keen interest in the subject.

At interview, all students will be assessed on their suitability for this course including artistic flair, communication, professional conduct, attitude and behaviour.

This course is assessed continuously through observations of practical treatments and multiple-choice exams.

You will be required to work on clients/models to complete your assessments.

On successful completion of this course, you may progress on to another accredited course such as Bridal make-up, Afro-Caribbean care & styling, lash lifting or brow lamination. You could also progress to Level 2 hairdressing or beauty.

All students will be required to find a model/client for their final assessment.

All students will be required to wear a hair uniform, or alternatively all black clothing. This includes full closed shoes.

There may be a small additional charge for product/kit use during the course, this will be discussed at enrolment.

On completion of the course, learners will be able to gain insurance through ABT, to begin their career in the bridal hair industry.
