Course introduction

The HTRLP2 module is a specialist assessment under the Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) for gas engineers working with Widney gas fires, typically installed in residential park homes and leisure accommodation. This course provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to install, exchange, disconnect, service, repair and breakdown and commissioning of an LPG gas fire typically found in LAV and RPH.

  • Appliance Familiarisation: Understand the design, operation, and unique features of Widney gas fires.
  • Installation & Commissioning: Learn correct procedures for fitting, testing, and commissioning Widney appliances in LPG environments.
  • Servicing & Fault Diagnosis: Develop hands-on skills in routine maintenance and identifying faults specific to Widney fire units.
  • Safety & Compliance: Apply relevant gas safety legislation, flueing and ventilation requirements, and manufacturer guidelines.

Course information

17 hours

You must have an in-date Core Gas Safety Certificate (CCN1), CoNGLP1 and HTR1. Experience of working with domestic gas fires.

Assessment is by practical tests and a theory exam.
