This course is perfect if you would like a career in the health sector.

You will learn:

You will develop academic skills (essay writing and Harvard referencing) alongside practical competence through attending a placement, 2 days a week, across a variety of healthcare settings such as care homes. As part of this, you will need a DBS check, which the college provide. A placement is a mandatory part of the course.

You can also expect a personal and social development session for 1 hour a week.

Pearson Edexcel BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies)

You’ll need 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4, including English Language, Science and Maths – all of these must be grades 9-4. You can also gain a place by having a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification with English and Maths GCSE grades 9-4.

Students must be aged 16-18.

You will undertake internally assessed assignments and externally assessed exams.

Upon successful completion of the Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies) you can progress onto university to study a range of health-related courses at degree level. 

During the course you will find out about career opportunities and get expert advice on your next steps for example, further study at Nottingham College, employment or higher education.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
